Annalee Newitz writes science fiction and nonfiction. She is the author of the novel Autonomous, nominated forthe Nebula and Locus Awards, and winner of the Lambda Literary Award. As a science journalist, she’s writtenfor the Washington Post, Slate, Ars Technica, the New Yorker, and The Atlantic, among others. She is also the co-host of the podcast Our Opinions Are Correct. She was the founder of io9, and served as the editor-in-chief of Gizmodo.

Her new novel, The Future of Another Timeline, comes out September 2019.

Charlie Jane Anders

Charlie Jane Anders’ latest novel is The City in the Middle of the Night. She’s also the author of All the Birds in the Sky, which won the Nebula, Crawford and Locus awards, and Choir Boy, which won a Lambda Literary Award. Plus a novella called Rock Manning Goes For Broke and a short story collection called Six Months, Three Days, Five Others. Her short fiction has appeared in Tor.com, Boston Review, Tin House, Conjunctions, the Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, Wired Magazine, Slate, Asimov’s Science Fiction, Lightspeed, ZYZZYVA, Catamaran Literary Review, McSweeney’s Internet Tendency and tons of anthologies. Her story Six Months, Three Days won a Hugo Award, and her story Don’t Press Charges And I Won’t Sue won a Theodore Sturgeon Award.

Charlie Jane also organizes the monthly Writers With Drinks reading series, and co-hosts the podcast Our Opinions Are Correct with Annalee Newitz.

Gunilla Jonsson & Michael Petersén

Our Swedish Guests of Honor are the two writers Gunilla Jonsson and Michael Petersén. They are well-known from the roleplaying games (RPG) community and they are the creators of the post-apocalyptic RPG called“Mutant” and the occult horror RPG called “KULT”. Jonsson and Petersén are also well-known from the Science Fiction bookstore “Science Fiction-bokhandeln” and they are active in the Swedish SF fandom since farback. Last year, the writer couple release their first novel – “Döden är bara början” (“Death is only the beginning”) – set in the world of KULT. The novel takes place in a Berlin falling apart, opening up toward the “true” reality.
